Solution lays foundation for broad population reach and 100% fulfillment of vaccine supply

ATLANTA, Ga. – May 18, 2021 – Gozio Health, an industry-leading, customizable end-to-end mobile platform, today announced that its digital front door solution is providing the needed foundation to support University Health’s successful vaccine distribution effort.

As the largest vaccine effort in the greater San Antonio/Bexar County region of Texas, University Health has drawn on the power of push notifications and seamless patient communication within the Gozio platform to simplify scheduling and complete more than 350,000 vaccinations. The ability to maintain a full vaccination schedule has enabled the health system to use all its vaccine supply—a notable achievement as many healthcare organizations struggle with waste.

“Having a fully featured mobile app in place has proved instrumental to both our pandemic response and vaccine distribution strategy,” Selene Mejia, University Health digital marketing manager. “The ability to communicate in real-time gives our patients peace of mind as we navigate a fluid COVID-19 care environment. It has allowed University Health to establish a direct relational link with the community, advance vaccine administration in our region and target vulnerable and underserved populations.”

University Health deployed the Gozio platform in May 2020 under the name “University Health Go” as a free app on the Apple App Store or Google Play. The platform provides one-stop connectivity that gives patients access to real-time notifications, appointment scheduling, navigation to locations and more. Since promoting the app for push notifications to support vaccine scheduling, University Health has experienced more than 130,000 downloads.

“The pandemic has fast-tracked the importance of digital patient experiences, and health systems across the country are seeking solutions that improve patient interactions and access to care,” said Joshua Titus, CEO and founder of Gozio. “We are delighted that the Gozio platform is uniquely positioned to provide an optimal foundation for advancing vaccine administration as well as supporting the future of digital patient engagement.”
